Donna Camilla Savelli

Roma (RM), Italy

2024

Arch. Marcheti & Catherine Grenier

A former baroque convent designed by Francesco Borromini, a secret garden, and a terrace overlooking Rome: Donna Camilla Savelli is a haven of tranquility in the heart of Trastevere. Among cloisters, columns, and shaded courtyards, every stay becomes a dialogue between past and present.

The contract design intervention aimed to enhance the charm of the former convent, preserving its architectural identity while integrating contemporary solutions. The project develops in balance between historical rigor and modern requirements, ensuring comfort without altering the spirit of the place.

The rooms have been created with bespoke furnishings, designed to respect the original structure and enhance its spaces. Refined and quiet environments, characterized by essential furnishings, high ceilings, and views over the internal gardens or the rooftops of Trastevere.

The Executive Rooms, located within the 17th-century convent, overlook courtyards or the neighborhood’s narrow streets. Contemporary style and carefully selected color details make these spaces ideal for an elegant and relaxing stay.

The Prestige Deluxe Borromini best expresses the historical value of the property. Located along the façade designed by Borromini, it features a wooden ceiling with exposed beams and overlooks the entrance courtyard.

This contract furnishing project integrates materials and details that dialogue with the original architecture, offering exclusive and harmonious environments.
