Bird Box House

Ferrara (FE), Itally

2023

MAXHOTEL CONTRACT

In the heart of Ferrara, between Piazzetta San Nicolò and Via Colomba, Bird Box House was created as a project that transforms a historic building into a contemporary student residence. Originally a 16th-century noble palace, the property still preserves valuable architectural features, including terracotta arches, loggias, and a Renaissance cornice that also frames the internal courtyard.

The contract design intervention is set within a complex context shaped by centuries of transformations.

The recent restoration has led to a contract furnishing project capable of reinterpreting historic spaces and adapting them to new living needs, without compromising their original identity.

The interiors have been developed with bespoke furnishings, designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing architectural elements. Each space has been conceived to offer functionality and comfort, preserving the historical memory of the building while creating welcoming environments for students.

This contract design and furnishing intervention represents a virtuous example of redevelopment, where history and innovation meet. Bird Box House thus becomes a unique place, designed to offer students a high-quality living experience in the heart of Ferrara.
