Grand Hotel Playa in Lignano Sabbiadoro: Thirty Years of Evolution in Hotel Room Furnishing

When it comes to contract design and high-end hotel renovations, continuity and trust are the foundations on which long-lasting success is built. In this interview, Dr. Pier Bocus, owner of the Grand Hotel Playa, shares the story of his long-standing collaboration with us, a journey that began more than thirty years ago and radically transformed the identity of his property. Just a few steps from the center of Lignano Sabbiadoro and its vibrant nightlife, the Grand Hotel Playa welcomes guests directly on the seafront, offering breathtaking panoramic views and meticulous attention to detail that begins with the furnishing of its rooms.

The Beginning of a Partnership: A Family Story

The relationship between Grand Hotel Playa and Maxhotel dates back to 1993. At that time, as Pier Bocus recalls, the hotel was still managed by his parents while he was attending university.

The first major step together was an ambitious project: the complete renovation of approximately 70 hotel rooms. From that moment on, the evolution never stopped, moving from the creation of superior rooms to the development, in 2011, of the hotel’s sixth floor with an additional ten suites.

But what were the key factors behind this choice? For Dr. Bocus, the decision came naturally:

“It was easy because I already knew both Serafino and Gino. Maxhotel was always able to bring our ideas to life. For me, it was simple: I called Gino, explained what I wanted, and he would make it happen quickly. We always understood each other immediately, and I have always enjoyed working with them.”

Project Management: A Results-Oriented Team

A crucial aspect of hotel contract furnishing is operational management. Dr. Bocus highlights how the relationship with the office team has always been excellent.

A special mention goes to the installation team. Pier Bocus fondly recalls the work carried out over the years by Paolo and his collaborators figures he considers fundamental during the installation phase and with whom he still maintains a wonderful relationship today.

Reliability and punctuality are the terms that best describe the operational management of the projects developed for Grand Hotel Playa. As Dr. Bocus explains: “My goal has always been to have the rooms ready a few days before opening so that everything could be organized properly and that has always been the case.”

Despite the inevitable challenges of every construction site, Dr. Bocus continues: “Maxhotel has always guaranteed punctuality and flexibility, proving willing to intervene for adjustments or finishing touches even during the peak summer season to ensure a flawless result.”

The Final Result: Between Renderings and Reality

In the world of hotel room furnishing, the greatest challenge is ensuring that the final result faithfully reflects the original design vision. Dr. Bocus confirms that the completed projects have always matched the initial render proposals.

The satisfaction of Grand Hotel Playa is demonstrated by the facts: on three separate occasions they chose to entrust their projects to us. According to Dr. Bocus, this decision to continue working with the same partner even for smaller projects, stems from the relationship of trust and friendship built over the years with Serafino Favero, who has always been available and enthusiastic to collaborate.

This successful partnership was celebrated over the years through several interviews published in Hotel Domani, the leading magazine in the hospitality sector.

Guest Reactions

Dr. Bocus explains that Grand Hotel Playa’s guests, many of whom are loyal returning clients, expect continuous innovation every year. Although some guests were initially attached to the older rooms, they quickly changed their minds once they experienced the new design. Feedback has been extremely positive: the new rooms are perceived as more beautiful, more spacious, and significantly more comfortable.

What Sets Us Apart: Why Choose Maxhotel

According to Dr. Bocus, our added value lies in the friendship and mutual respect built over the years. With complete honesty, the hotelier admits that there are less expensive companies on the market, but Maxhotel Contract’s competitive advantage is unmatched: the ability to transform ideas into reality through the expertise of its technical team.

The ease with which they interpret abstract concepts, such as the simple desire for a room that feels “spacious, bright, and simple”, makes the entire process smooth and effective.

Added to this is the deep experience of the Bocus family, who for years lived directly inside the hotel rooms themselves: “This direct experience allows us to fully understand our guests’ needs, and Maxhotel Contract is the partner who successfully transformed this awareness into a winning furnishing project.”
